The following guide details how set Resolve as a default payment method at checkout or conditionally render it using B2B Edition.

Payment method customizations are only supported with B2B Edition stores

Overview

With BigCommerce B2B Edition, store owners have the ability to manage the visibility of certain payment methods depending on the Company Account that a company user is related to. This allows you to conditionally show the Resolve payment method at checkout, or have it visible as a default payment method for all new company accounts. For more details on approved payment methods, see this .

Requirements

Before following the steps in this guide, ensure you've completed the following steps:

  • Installed and configured the Resolve BigCommerce App as detailed

  • Installed and configured the B2B Edition App

Instructions

1. Set Default Payment Methods (optional)

B2B Edition allows you to set default payment methods which apply to all new company accounts and users that are added to your store. If you'd like to ensure that newly created company accounts can checkout with Resolve, ensure the Cash on Delivery payment method is enabled for default payment methods.

  1. From the BigCommerce control panel, select Apps > B2B Edition.

  2. From the B2B Edition control panel, select Settings > General.

  3. Under Set Default Payment Methods, ensure that Cash on Delivery is selected.

  4. Select Save.

2. Configure Company Payment Methods

To conditionally display Resolve at checkout, we'll have to enable/disable the COD payment method for specific company accounts.

Company users must sign in to use approved payment methods at checkout

  1. From the BigCommerce control panel, select Apps > B2B Edition.

  2. Select Companies from the B2B Edition control panel.

  3. Create a new company account by selecting Add new or select an existing company account. Ensure there is at least one company user in the company account.

  4. Select Payment Methods > Edit.

  5. To allow a company account to checkout with Resolve, select the Cash on Delivery checkbox. Otherwise unselect it to hide Resolve from company users. To test the intended behaviour, ensure you have two company accounts with alternate selections for Cash on Delivery.

  6. Select Save.

3. Test Company Accounts at Checkout

  1. Sign into your BigCommerce storefront with a company user.

  2. Add items to cart and continue to checkout.

  3. If you've disabled the Cash on Delivery payment method, then Resolve should be hidden at checkout.

4. Update Company Accounts

Once tested, update your company accounts to show/hide Resolve at checkout to ensure an optimized checkout experience. If you've configured Resolve as a default payment method, then all newly created company accounts will be able to checkout with Resolve.
